Hallway built in to mimic original style cabinetry

Flat grained douglas for was the prevalent wood used in Portland, OR during the building boom of the 1910's through the 1920's.  Most original cabinets from that era are Fir (if they still exist)  This full custom vintage styled bookcase/linen closet is an example of how to seamlessly blend new cabinetry with old trim.  The window and door trim is original.  I had the Lintel molding custom made to match the original exactly.  We custom matched the stain color as well and finished the cabinet in Shellac which would have been the finish du jour in 1917.

If you have a nook, cranny, crawlspace, attic space, under stair cubby or whatever area in your house that could use practical, beautiful storage give us a shout.  George Ramos Woodworking is Inner Portland's local cabinet shop.
